ed2go offered by Global Initiatives at Miami University
Do you want to learn new skills in order to prepare for that new job? Do you want to refresh your knowledge of basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word or Excel all from the comfort of home? These courses are open to everyone, and Continuing Education under Global Initiatives, in collaboration with ed2go, offers a wide range of interactive online courses.
These online courses are affordable, convenient, and many qualify for Miami’s job enrichment program and offer 24 contact hours of instruction. Search this site to view the wide range of courses from computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, to website development, customer service, and language courses such as Speed Spanish, to name just a few. These classes are not for college credit and may require additional supplies, computer software, and texts.
Ed2go offers Fundamentals courses with two learning modalities, instructor led and self-paced. These courses offer the same content with two learning styles in mind. Instructor led courses are for students who prefer a structured learning pace with instructor guidance. Lessons are gated and released biweekly. Self-paced tutorials are for students who prefer to learn at their own pace and are comfortable with self-guidance. Students gain access to all course material, quizzes and the final exam at the time of enrollment.
Info for Miami Staff:
Since these are non-credit courses, Miami's tuition waiver does not apply. However, if you participate in Miami’s Job Enrichment Program(JEP) and are looking for learning opportunities, many departments will cover the cost of the courses when they pertain to the staff's job duties. If you are a Miami employee in which your department will be paying for your courses contact Donna Gouvan or (513) 529-8601 to get registered. (Do not use your Miami p-card to register and pay.)
