Take ed2go online courses offered by VANGUARD-SENTINEL, from the comfort of your home or office and at times most convenient for you.
We offer hundreds of engaging online courses for adults. Each course comes equipped with a patient and caring instructor, lively discussions with your fellow students, and plenty of practical information that you can put to immediate use.
All courses start monthly and run for six weeks, with a 10 day grace period at the end. Sessions are project-oriented and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion areas, supplementary links, and more. Two lessons are released weekly for the six-week duration of the course. Students do not have to be present when lessons are released. They will have access to all lessons until the course ends. However, the interactive Discussion Area (DA) that accompanies each lesson will automatically close two weeks after the lesson is released. As such, we strongly recommend that students complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.
Instructor Led Courses are presented in an easy-to-learn, written format, with the instructor available in the DA for correspondence as needed. The instructor has written the course content themselves, and is available to assist students with the content as they learn the content via the DA. The classroom is available to the student 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“Instructor Led” means there is a live instructor available for feedback and interaction via the DA. The instructor uses the DA to post important messages, provide assignment feedback, and facilitate student interaction.
Unfortunately, instructors are not available via email to students. However, there is a link within the classroom that will allow the student to comment on issues unrelated to the lesson (such as extension requests, problems, compliments, or complaints). The “click here” link can be found at the top of each lesson's DA with the following note: This DA is for questions about the material in lesson 1 only. It will remain open for a period of two weeks, commencing with the release of lesson 1. Students can expect to spend about 2 hours per lesson, two lessons per week. This adds up to about 24 hours for the duration of the six-week course. Quizzes, assignments, the pretest, and participation in the DA don’t count towards the overall score in the class. However, we recommend students participate and complete these, as these are tools to prepare students for the final exam. Their score on the final exam will determine whether they successfully complete the course or not, and it may only be submitted once. If there are videos in the course the student will need sound. Video transcripts are made available for all videos.
