Ken Baldwin

Ken Baldwin, M.ED., ACSM-H/FI has been involved in the fitness, wellness, and education profession for over 10 years. He is the senior editor, content expert, and lead author for ACSM's Resources for the Personal Trainer Textbook, Second Edition." He was chair of IDEA's National Personal Trainer Committee and chair of the Senior Fitness Subcommittee for the Massachusetts Governor's Committee on Physical Fitness and Sports. He serves on national committees for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), AAHPERD, and the Medical Fitness Association. His background includes operating and managing a personal training company, consulting at corporations, and lecturing at international conferences, public events, national conventions.

There are no prerequisites to take this course. However, there are prerequisites to complete the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam.

Exam Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have completed high school (or the equivalent)
  • Hold a current CPR/AED certification with a live skills check
  • Present a current government-issued photo ID with signature (driver's license, passport, military ID)

Yes, you will be prepared for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) Certification examination. Exam Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old at time of registration
  • Must hold an adult CPR and AED certificate with live skills check. Online CPR/AED courses not accepted. *AED only required in USA and Canada
  • Must present a current government-issued photo ID with signature (driver's license, passport, military ID)
  • Must have completed high school (or the equivalent)
  • Must register at least 10 days prior to the exam date of your choice. Special accommodation exams require registration at least 15-30 days prior to the requested exam date.

This course is open enrollment, so you can register and start the course whenever you are ready. Access to your course can take 24-48 business hours.

After you register, you will receive 6 months to complete the course. The time allotted for completion has been calculated based on the number of course hours.

If you are unable to complete the course, contact your Student Advisor to help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that an extension fee will be charged. If you are funded through a third-party organization, approval may also be required.
